What is online coaching?

Online coaching is a new and exciting way to offer life-changing, nutrition and fitness coaching. It can be utilized by anyone, anywhere, offering convenience, responsiveness, and flexibility. With it, we empower our clients with more accountability and support than we ever could in-person.

The best part? The program is your program. Designed for busy people who value their time, you’ll no longer be limited by rules of the gym, scheduling necessities, and other time and financial obligations. We will be your concierge – giving you precisely what you need, when you need it.

What is a Registered Dietitian?

Registered Dietitians are the only regulated health professional in Canada qualified to provide nutrition counselling. Dietitians are identified by 97% of Canadians as a credible source of food and nutrition advice. Registered Dietitians are health care professionals who are trained to provide advice and counselling about diet, food, and nutrition. They use the best available evidence coupled with good judgment about the client’s or communities’ unique values and circumstances to determine guidance and recommendations.

What type of clients do you work with?

We work with anyone who wants to change their body composition and improve their health and performance. We have experience working with fitness competitors, professional athletes, and others with extreme deadlines, however most of our clients are everyday people looking to feel better in their skin.

We’ve worked with clients with diabetes, IBS, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, cancer, hyper/ hypothyroidism, depression/ anxiety, women who are pregnant, and more. If you have a specific condition or extreme timeframe in which you need to accomplish your goals, please let us know at initial contact.

What are macros?

The term “macros” is short for macronutrients: carbohydrates, fats, and protein. Macronutrients provide energy, structure, and regulation for our bodies to help perform everyday tasks. Learn more about macros here.

How do the coaching programs work and what’s included?

We always start with a free consultation – this is where we’ll find out if our services are a good fit for your needs. We’ll get to know you and your lifestyle, assess your current health and body composition, establish goals, lay the foundation for success, and explain the short-term and long-term plan.

Then, based on our consultation and your questionnaire, we build and implement a personalized plan. Tailored to each client, our Coaching Programs include:

  • Daily food log review & analysis
  • Weekly check-ins & macro adjustments
  • Weekly reports
  • Customized supplement plan
  • Exercise tracking
  • Customized workout programs (complimentary)
  • Lifetime Client Portal access to articles, recipes & resources
  • Ongoing email & phone support

You can choose from our 12 Week, 24 Week, or 48 Week Program.

What will I need to do while on the program?

Track your macros/ Keep a detailed food log – Tracking your macros is a structured approach that allows you to eat all the foods you love while at the same time producing results. By adjusting food types and quantities throughout your program, we can keep your body in the environment needed for body composition change.

Keeping a food log will also let us see exactly what you’re consuming so we can provide personalized coaching. With this data, we are able to analyze your intake and recommend food and supplements to improve your health and enhance your performance. Our Registered Dietitian will also be able to identify nutritional gaps and make recommendations that will benefit you for years to come.

Data Submission – We will be asking you to submit your weigh-ins, measurements, progress photos, and workouts. The frequency of submissions will vary from client to client depending on their program.

Follow our guidance – Our goal is to make the process as simple as possible. We will provide you with the education you need and have you take action at a rate that you can easily implement into your life.

How long do I need to keep a food log and track my macros for? What is the maintenance stage?

It’s important that you log your food and track your macros for the duration of your program. Once you’ve lost the fat you’ve wanted to lose, built the muscle you’ve wanted to build and fired-up your metabolism to its potential, you move into the maintenance stage. When you make it to this point, you look great, feel great, and can eat a higher volume of delicious food with little risk to your waistline.

At this time, we recommend that we continue tracking your food intake for at least two weeks. The goal is to establish a basic routine of food types and portions that are in line with your maintenance macronutrient needs. After the two weeks, you can start to eye out portions and move away from logging your food.

As part of our exit strategy, we’ll guide you on how to move to a mindful/ intuitive eating approach, however many of our clients enjoy the process of tracking their macros and continue while at maintenance. It really isn’t a lot of work once you learn how, especially with our tips and resources. Knowing you will 100% sustain your results when you remain on target tends to be more than enough motivation to keep tracking.

How do I log my food and track my macros?

We have you use an app on your smartphone or computer to track your food intake and macros so we can see it in real time. It’s really easy. Still feeling unsure? Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through this process step-by-step once you start the program.
